MAKESHIFT Music, etc. was begun in Minonk, Illinois in the year 1996, based around the home recording and art activities of Mike Richards. Eeffoc & Maps was begun in Washburn, Illinois in the year 1995, based around the activities of Jeremiah Gregg's band, The Racing Pisshorses. Intangible Cat formed out of the melding of MAKESHIFT Music, etc. and Eeffoc & Maps in 2003.
